5. Have FTP software for your platform and know how to use it (This will be used to upload your graphics)The class is built upon a collaborative team design model. Students will be members of "design teams of 3-5 members. There maybe visiting students from Poland, the Netherlands, or Sweden in your group. Each team will work on an instructional design project as we learn about the instructional system design process. The project will then be produced by the team in the following semester.

I recently found the course textbook at Amazon.com
and Half.com,.
You should also inquire at other sources. If you find a less expensive source
please share the information with the class listserve once you have subscribed.
Also.. ask the program list, there may be students who wish to sel thir copy.
Graphic Program:
You will be using a graphics program (or some other application) to create flow charts. I would suggest looking around for easy to use software for your platform. Later versions of "Word" will create some graphics as well as "Works". The key is that you can save your file as a gif or jpeg, and control for image size to fit the limitations provided in the syllabus.
I have found "Inspiration" to work very well for creating flow charts. The graphic can be saved as a "gif" file and then resized to fit the class requirements using a graphic editor program. Download a working demo copy of Inspiration.
